12 Days of Self-Care

What does self care look like for a working woman during the holidays?

As we head into the holidays, work demands can be more hectic than ever.

With vacations, seasonal illness, and our natural slowdown of energy, many of us may find ourselves with bare-bones teams.

 And let’s be honest…

When 4 PM feels like 8 PM, everything in our body is just begging us to stop.

For many, this means making tough decisions.

Do we rush to get it all done this week?

Or do we leave it until the new year?

We all know that the week in between the holidays is often a wash.

With many necessary collaborators still out of office, productivity is often low.

And let us not forget the random holiday parties that fall into the week before the holidays.

You know, the friends and coworker parties that get crammed in just before we all sign off.

But what if this holiday season, instead of pushing through at the expense of our mental and physical health, we prioritize self-care?

In the spirit of taking care of ourselves during this busy time, we’ve started our countdown to the 12 Days of Self-Care, beginning last Friday.

Now, we’re giving you a heads-up and sharing the full list here to help you embrace some much-needed self-care throughout the Holiday season.

Here’s how we’re making self-care a priority during the holidays:

On the 1st day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
Say no to a call after hours

On the 2nd day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
No work on weekends.

On the 3rd day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
A 30 minute walk.

On the 4th day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
Lunch away from my desk.

On the 5th day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
Speak up in a meeting.

On the 6th day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
End my day on time.

On the 7th day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
Classical music to destress while working.

On the 8th day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
Clean or add joy to my workspace.

On the 9th day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
15 minutes of stretching to release tension.

On the 10th day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
15 minutes journaling appreciation.

On the 11th day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
Swap my second coffee for water

On the 12th day of Christmas, my true Self gave to me...
A heartfelt thank you to a great coworker.

As you navigate your priorities this holiday season, let these 12 days of self-care serve as gentle reminders to slow down, honor your body, and be kind to yourself.

Self-care isn’t a luxury.

We need it to maintain our health, focus, and joy.

Especially as there is more to do during the holidays.

Let’s finish the year strong, but let’s do it with harmony, happiness and intention.
