Redefining Success in 2025

Can we be ‘successful’ without mental and physical health?

As we approach the new year, we will likely start thinking about what our goals and standards will look like in the year ahead.

But before we dive into the usual metrics of success—like career milestones, financial achievements, or new business ventures—let’s pause and ask ourselves:

Am I truly successful if I achieve this by sacrificing my health?

It’s a question worth reflecting on.

What happens if we reach that promotion, secure the new deal, or make the move we’ve been dreaming of, but we’re still uncomfortable in our own skin, low on energy, and dependent on medication?

Does that still count as success?

We’ve all been there—pushing ourselves to achieve more, only to find that the fulfillment we expected doesn’t match the hard work we put in.

These aren’t questions meant to make us feel bad or defeated.

They’re questions to shine a light and spark inspiration in how we show up to ourselves and the world going forward.

These are questions we need to ask because no one else is going to do it.

In the corporate world, we're often encouraged to focus on performance, deadlines, and deliverables, not on the quality of our health.

Corporate America works better when we don’t ask questions like these.

The truth is, we are often asked to put our health on the backburner in exchange for bonuses, great benefits, and flexible time off.

But at what cost?

Is there a way to be successful and healthy?

What does a holistic hustle look like?

These are serious questions for those who are committed to achieving real success and not  willing to just hold up the facade of a rapidly deteriorating life. But desire genuine success, maintaining mental, emotional and physical health along the way.

Just looking successful is no longer trending.  We’ve done this as a society for several decades now and we can all agree we are tired.

The new year is our opportunity to live life better.

The definition of success is changing.

Will you be qualified for success in 2025 and beyond?

It’s no longer just about what we accomplish externally, but about the state of our mental, physical, and emotional health along the way.

It will now be about finding balance between our careers and personal well-being.

About living in alignment with our values, feeling at peace with ourselves, and having the energy to enjoy life to its fullest.

As we step into the new year, let’s make a commitment—not just to career achievements but to our body and it’s wellbeing.  Consider these questions as you prepare your personal 2025 strategy…

  1. In what ways will my professional life improve by prioritizing my health?

  2. What small, realistic changes can I make towards this improvement?

  3. How long can I realistically commit to before assessing my progress?

I hope this helps!  I am rooting for you.  I am rooting for us all to have true healthy success in 2025!
